Fadi Shayya

Fadi Shayya (1980) is an urbanist practicing and researching urbanism, architecture and spatial culture in the contemporary city with a focus on Beirut and the Arab cities. His work and consulting record includes Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), the United Nations and the American University of Beirut.

Fadi is laureate of the Basil Fuleihan Innovative Good Governance Award (2008) and editor of At the Edge of the City (2010). He speaks and writes on urbanism and public space through the critical collaborative DISCURSIVE FORMATIONS, and he is/was involved in academic juries (Beirut), This Is Not A Gateway (London), TEDxRamallah (Beirut), Archiprix International (Istanbul) and other activities.
